ADHD PSYCHOLOGIST SUTHERLAND SHIRE
Therapy for Adults with ADHD
If you feel like you have hundreds of tabs open at once — you're not alone. People with ADHD don’t struggle to pay attention; they pay attention to everything at the same time.
While ADHD is becoming more recognised, this doesn’t make it any less frustrating when you miss deadlines, overspend impulsively, or can’t focus during an important conversation with your best friend. These moments can leave you feeling misunderstood, overwhelmed, and even ashamed.

For many with ADHD, life can feel like you’re drowning, as if you missed the swimming lessons that everyone else got. You start the day with the best intentions, but distractions pile up, and by the end of the day, your to-do list seems longer than when you began. No matter how hard you try, it feels like you’re always playing catch-up.
The endless cycle of forgotten tasks, last-minute scrambles, and self-criticism takes a toll on your confidence and energy. Even when you achieve something great, you might struggle to celebrate it because your mind is already worrying about the next thing.
Even simple choices can feel overwhelming when you’re bombarded with options. You might spend hours agonizing over the “right” decision, only to end up avoiding it altogether.
ADHD impacts every aspect of life — work, relationships, and even how you view yourself. You might wonder why seemingly simple tasks feel so exhausting, or why managing time and emotions feels like a constant battle.
These challenges don’t mean you’re lazy or incapable; they’re the result of a brain that works differently. Learning to understand and work with your brain, rather than against it, can open the door to a life that feels calmer, more in control, and more aligned with your values.

Therapy can help you navigate the unique challenges of ADHD with compassion and practical strategies. Together, we can explore tools to manage overwhelm, build routines that actually stick, and develop self-compassion so you can move forward with confidence.
You don’t have to navigate this alone —support is here when you’re ready.
Can Tender Studio prescribe ADHD medication?
Unfortunately not. In Australia, the only people who can prescribe medication for ADHD are psychiatrists and paediatricians (for children).
Psychologists do not prescribe medication but can assist with ADHD symptoms through cognitive, behavioural, and emotional strategies.
Psychologists can provide psychological treatments such as therapy, ADHD coaching, skills and strategies, and can assist with reducing the impact that symptoms have on a person’s ability to live meaningfully. This can include focusing on emotional and social aspects of ADHD, as well as strategies related to attention, focus, planning, time management, and impacts on mood and anxiety.

Although we don't prescribe medication ourselves, we work closely with other medical professionals to ensure our clients receive comprehensive care tailored to their needs.

Schema Therapy delves deeper into the emotional and relational patterns that may underlie lifelong struggles, helping clients build healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and relating to others.
